The button was neglected, overshadowed by the Eagle penny. I finally got a couple of pics.
I think it's old, judging by the fact that the back is so crudded up I can't tell if the shank is still there.
Hemispherical front. I haven't gotten enough crud off it to read the word below the crest / coat of arms.
In general, I don't know if it's just a button that had a heraldic design "for looks" or is military and/or official.
Has anyone ever seen this type of button? Any info is appreciated.
