Got out for a full day of digging today. Got a button within a minute of the hunt then decided to try and find another hot spot, but nothing panned out. Went back to the hard worked areas and managed to pull out 24 buttons, a toasted colonial copper, part to a shoe buckle and an awesome Tennessee button!!! Some debate on the age and I am no expert so I haven't a clue. My button count as of now is at 189. Thanks for looking and hh!

Damn bud you've found a lifetime worth of nice early buttons from one site. Great job putting yourself on maybe the most incredible site as far as volume of good finds I've seen

Really nice!

Just imagine what has occurred in that area over time.

I wish you could determine what that site was. What a collection of buttons!

That Tennessee is superb!! Congrat's!!

Thanks guys.

Yep, nothing short of an awesome site. Have no doubt you will always remember it, for those kind of sites are few and far between. Congrats on another great hunt.

Matt, your Tennessee State Seal button is shown in the button-book by Alphaeus H. Albert as button TN-3A. Although the backmark on yours says simply "Extra Quality" we know from info in the Albert book that it was made by the Scovill Manufacturing Company, Its backmark is written in late-1800s-to-today "plain block" lettering, and the Scovill Manufacturing Company stopped making buttons in 1962. So, your button dates sometime from the late-1800s to 1962.

That hill is producing some awesome buttons.

Matt, great finds! how is the button score going between you and your brother, still neck and neck?

My cousin. And yes. He got 14 buttons last time he went. He's up to 170. So we're up to 359!

Great looking buttons. Nice job.

That button is a beauty!

Matt, I knew the Tenn. button wasn't CW period but it's still a great find & I don't recall ever seeing one ANYWHERE. That site must have been a place where shirts, coats, & jackets must have been recycled early on. WTG, Q.

great finds there...definitely some age range for that button....

Thanks Quindy. I've searched high and low and haven't found any, anywhere that have been recovered or at least posted to any detecting forum.
