Button Id help??

I found this button in an old town dating early 1800s, I was digging around my finds from last year and noticed this button and it had sky blue thread still attached, then it got me thinking lol I found it where there was a civil war skirmish and there were yanks recruited soldiers and was a small force located in town. I was thinking that the yankees wore sky blue trousers and this could possibly be from that but who knows I can dream lol What's your guy's opinion or if you know how old this button might be? Thanks!

Both sides wore sky blues. With the condition of your thread, I suspect you have a reenactor's button.
