Need help IDing this button Skywatcher found in a plowed field while hunting arrowheads. I think it is WW2, he thinks it's earlier. Scoville Mfg Co Waterbury on the back-shank is still attached. THANKS!

it looks to be a WWII general service button. Great Find! HH!

I've found buttons that match that on various digs dating from approx. 1865 to 1905. Scoville used that pattern for a very long time, but I agree that it is older than WWII, I looked at some buttons on uniforms from WWII that I have here that my Grandfather wore. The chevrons seem to be a bit different in shape.
