Button / Lapel Pin Design - WTH is this?

A friend of a friend recovered this as they are rehabbing a building that was a tavern from colonial into the last century.
They found what she describes as a "lapel pin". I am waiting for pictures of reverse.
In the meantime, any thoughts on the design / pattern? Anyone recognize anything?

EDIT: PIC of reverse received. Appears to be flat button.

Not sure about the pattern. When they take a picture of the reverse side have them include a size reference & the type of material it is made of.

Yes, we need something better for size too. It almost looks like a poker chip, but, I don't think it's big enough for that.

The third pic is in the hand. Looks like about 3/4".

The last picture of the reverse looks like it once had the eye like a button.

I believe it is a Cloisonne button (sometimes called Champleve buttons). I'm guessing yours is late 19th to turn of the 20th C. just based on styling. Could be older as they've made that stuff for centuries...

Found a similar one online. Maybe is a commercial design that has no meaning.
