Button? Maybe?

Me and a buddy was hunting an old home site today and I found this gem! Lol I have no clue as to what it could possibly be. It's round and gold plated with a round pink piece of glass in the middle. I first thought it to be a button, but it does not have a loop in the back. I'm stumped, hopefully I can get someone else's opinion as to what it could possibly be. Thanks.

Reckon it could be a key off of an old cash register or maybe to a musical instrument of some sort?
