I found what i first thought was a large cent, but some sort of button, question is.....is it a flat button or horse tack?​

It appears to be a 1-piece White-Tombac "spunback" button from the late 1700s to early 1800s, whose iron wire loop has rusted away. See the third type in the chart, below.

Ok...nice amount of info, I found a lot of pottery shards also, this might help me date the site.
