Button thingy? Couple metal pieces?

Did some more MD in the field that has produced some nice finds over the last couple weeks. I found these very interesting items, and have no idea what they could be. The flat button thing is of interest, since there is writing and three small stars on it. Any help IDing would be appreciated!

when enlarged, you can easily make out most of the writing, cool no matter what. so is it a token?
