Button?

I finally got out yesterday and found what I think is a button, along with 2 wreath pennies (one I lost. BOOO!).
Anyone have any idea as to age? And what would be the best way to try to clean some of the corrosion off?

Nothing to clean, it's very corroded & was most likely just plain plated which has all gone.

Well, I gave it light cleaning with hot water, soap, and a toothbrush. Found some gold guild still attached (low right). Cool
