Buttons and buckle frame

Pretty slim pickings over the weekend. Went back to my "button field" and eeked out a broken tombac, a dandy, and a small buckle frame. This clay ground is rock hard, and the heat just made for a tough hunt. I am soooo looking forward to some cool, wet weather!

Yeap, our clay is getting just enough water at the moment, but some of the cracks are so big you can loss buttons down them!

Nice early finds. Looks like the buckle might be a knee buckle based the size and design.

Thanks, Screwynewy. My thoughts as well on the knee buckle. I've probably found a half dozen of these small frames at this site. Just wish I could find one fully intact!
