Looking at this detector and also the ATX. Problem with the ATX is that apparently it was introduced over 10 years ago and I am wondering if there has been any upgrades or new tech put into the ATX since. The AT Pro on the other hand is new tech. Thanks in advance for your comments...

If you are going to use it in saltwater the ATX is a PI machine and will work much better. The ATPro is a single frequency machine and does not do well in the salt. You might also consider the Apex as it is a multi-frequency machine but it is not waterproof.
