Do not believe my friend, I am searching longer and I send a message.

Looks like a one wich can be opened to put a relic in! :o I have only found one but the back was missing and it was empty. This one looks untouched! Very nice find!!!

Thank you for the opinions!
It's a 9-10 century shrines cross. Holy bones or land were kept in him and this he was not opened yet! :icon_thumright:

I would not like to open it. I believe it so so more special I am afraid of him concerned, that the lower axis breaks at the time of the opening.

OUCH! ::)
It's mine just smaller.

9118. FINE BYZANTINE BRONZE RELIQUARY CROSS, ca. 9th-12th century AD. Christ crucified one side with cross above, the Virgin orans on the other, swivel suspension loop above. 3.25 inches. Such reliquaries were used to carry relics of Saints, Martyrs splinters of 'the true cross' and other religious relics. Choice intact example.
Price: $2250.

Wow!! I wouldn't have thought it would bring such a price....I guess the next question will be if you are going to sell it :headbang:
