C.W. button-503 A?

Can't show a picture yet but I found an iron button in an area where I've found many C.W. items. It has 503 A on it's face. The letters are about a quarter inch tall, except for the "A" which is smaller and centered underneath the "0". The location is in LaGrange, TN.
I don't think I've seen any buttons on this forum with regiment #'s or anything so I'm not
sure what the # refers to. Any help would be appreciated.
