Camping Week Finds

Took the wife and granddaughter camping this week end and since there is a beach there I thought I would take the detector. When I finally got camp set up I decided to got to the beach and hit it for a while. This being the day after the Memorial Day week end I thought for sure it would hit a few coins and possibly some jewelry. I hunter for about fourty minutes and did pretty good I think. I found $4.05 in clad not counting the pennies, a 1903 barber dime, two 1/2 reales one is 1808 ferdinand VII and the other is to worn to tell but both came out of the same hole and last I found a heavy gold chain. As I was going out the next morning, the park ranger told me it was illegal to metal detect in the park and on the beach. So ended my time with the metal detector. But the new detector did good for the second time out. Here are the pics of my finds. I would like to learn how to get good close up shots so I could show the detail of the barber and the reale.

I wonder if some of those older coins were still there because it was off limits to detect? Nice finds!

Alright....Just cleaned the other reale up the best I could and had my Grand Daughter look at the date. Her young eyes are much better than mine. She tells me it is a 1799 coin.
