Can anyone help me with the date of this buckle? Era

Hey friends. I am collecting buckles now that I find. I like to label them when I hang them up but I am having trouble finding how old this one is.. Can anyone tell me the era? early 1900's... 1800's... And does anyone know of a goof website that can give me the information I need for the eras of these things.. thanks!!!

Looks more like a belt adjuster than a buckle. I could be wrong though.

Hard to tell the exact age from the picture, but it looks like the adjuster on an older toolbelt that I have. The actual belt broke and that piece fell off so I was holding it in my hand just like you are! So, like Vay said, I think it is a belt adjuster of some kind.
