I inherited this from my mom. I always assumed it is amber. It weighs 563 grams. I am trying to confirm it is amber and what type.

To weigh that much is must be quite large, since Amber has such a low density.

It looks like very nice quality Amber from the pics to me.

Indonesia is a very popular source for what has been coined "Blue Amber" which fluoresces blue even in sunlight!

If you can break off a tiny piece and put a flame to it, if it is amber, you will be able to smell a pine smell.
