Can anyone ID this Mililtary Button found in Hawaii?

I found this Military button on Memorial Day, hunting with my girlfriend Millie. Is it from WW 2 or could it be from a Royal Hawaiian Guard? It was found about 3 inches deep and next to it was an old belt buckle. It looks like a lawnmorrow got to it at sometime.

I think your correct, Fort Shafter is near by and I once found a Good Conduct Medal in the same park.
