Can anyone tell me what this may be? Picture 347.webpPicture 348.webpPicture 349.webpPicture 350.webpPicture 351.webpPicture 352.webpPicture 353.webpPicture 354.webp It does not react to a magnet and is not very light nor heavy. It has many glass like chips embedded in it but are even with the surface.

Some kind of volcanic stone or glass perhaps?

I would be happy to tell you what you have...

But i am going to need to know where you found/bought it so that i may be able to determine if it is basaltic or rhyolitic.

State, if in the US - country if elsewhere is plenty good enough.

I found this in a collection of a lot of things but do not know were the owner got it. It also shines like a prism or rainbow affect also.

Assuming you are in the US, that is a fine example of Amerikanite... Which is a terrestrial form of obsidian.

They are a rhyolitic glass.

Any chance you are in California?

Millions of years old, I'd call that priceless.

If you must assign a dollar amount, you -might- get a few dollars for it...?
