Bought this vase yesterday, look closely to see where it was found :laughing7: I forgot to remove the tag.

That won't work. It was written with a marker before firing.
 

Try as I might, I can't make heads or tails of that chicken scratch.
 

I believe it's Walter-something. Looks like Dartmoorl or -moad, maybe. That's a very messy signature. Weird last name.
 

Looks like Walter Marwood. My Google Fu skills found people named Walter Marwood. Oddly enough, the "Marwood" name is also associated with pottery vases.
 

That is funny I think they are like doctors they don't want you to be able to read their name lol
