Found this while digging a metal target while metal detecting.
It was found maybe 1500 feet from the DES PLAINES RIVER in IL
It a little smaller then the diameter of a dime.
Its a little bit oval.
There is a star like tunnel through it.
It's hard to see but in the first picture there are many lines that go from the center of the star and that go straight out to the sides'
( like a picture of the sun with it's rays )
Any ideas on what kind of fossil this might be?
