can you clean colonial coins in a rock tumble

I was wondering if you can clean colonial coins in a rock tumble, I saw a video on YouTube of how to clean copper coins and other coins. I was wondering if you can clean old coins in the rock tumble or would it lose the value of the coin. If you know how to clean old coins let me know. Thanks.

Don't do the rock tumbler if you want it to have value to someone else. I'm no expert but I've seen this subject come up several times and the consensus is always " don't touch it and pay a professional coin cleaning company" but there also comes other factors such as if you've rubbed it or soaked it with anything which could've already damaged it.

If you watched the you tube video cleaning coins with vinegar & salt,DONOT DO IT. From past experience I know & it is not pretty.I destroyed a 1888 IH,1820 & 1829 LP.
