Hello, I found a 1970 d penny in my late father's collection that is completely silver in color. It is flawless. It uncirculated and without a scratch. Why is it silver instead of copper in color? Have you ever seen anything like it? Thanks!

It is silver plated. I have seen many like it, and have many to boot. They then polish up the silver to give it a nice shine. It's interesting, though.
