Exactly. The area had a good sized golf course back in the 20-30's. I'm not sure if the lot I searched was part of it. Possibly where the cleared soil ended up. Thanks for the good guesses.HH Bill

It looks like an old flat-belt pulley from an antique tractor. You might be able to sell this on Ebay to one of those guys who restore antique tractors.

My other hobby is golf.

I brought it in to show my boss, who is a golfer and has a detector. It took him about 20 seconds to ID it.
