I found this really cool cane. It’s got kinda like would would be a lion? Carved close to the handle. Some cloth/thread in the middle. Interesting piece.

Tramp art, hobo art, or folk art hand carved cane take your pick. Interesting piece.
 

It’s an African walking stick. That crutch-like handle thing is how they make them. The cowrie shells embedded in the border are used all over Africa. The hard part w these african things is figuring out if it was made yesterday or 200 years ago. There’s a museum here w pieces from 1600-1800s and they look like they came out of a pier one store to me. I always venture on the side of modern because so much of it is produced. Try to find someone who specializes in african pieces, but keep ur expectations low and hope to be surprised.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1544967382.020337.webp

Ahhh - I just saw that little brass thing on the back. I think you are in pier one territory. Google “african walking stick wall hanging”
