Canister Shot?

I recently found this conglomerate while metal detecting a treasure beach in south Florida after Hurricane Nicole passed through. After dissolving it for a couple of hours in a salt and vinegar bath and cleaning it with a brush it’s starting to look a lot like iron canister shot. It looks like it’s still attached to the the metal rear plate as well. The ball is about 1 inch in diameter. Do you guys think this could actually be canister shot? The first picture is when I found it. The second picture is after I cleaned it a bit.
