This weekend hunts. My keepers raise more questions than I have answers.
First yesterday got out with my friends Charles and Don, amongst the clad I managed to find two keepers first what looks like a King George II copper, man is it toasted, the side where Brittania would be is totally smooth and the other side all I can make out is what looks like KGII bust.
The second keeper, at least I think it's a keeper from yesterday is a earring, markings on the back say: IBB CN. OK what does that mean? It rang up with the DEUS same as a nickel which is usually gold range 62 to 64 (ID Norm)
Centerstone sparkles quite a bit and I wonder if those are little diamonds all around. I tried to scratch test for gold and ran out of patience with all those droppers her 10 K 14 K 22K etc. it tested negative for silver. I am being urged to take it to a jeweler. The only information I could find online with IBB is the existence of IBB Jewelry Companies One in London and one in Canada, and they look like they make high-end jewelry.
Now for today, the area I live is rich with Revolutionary war history, without coming out and saying where I was I will say it was found where it gets covered in water. It seems rather small though, just over 2 inches in diameter, still has roundness so what else could it be? I'm thinking it probably lost some of its diameter while sitting in the water for years. I will weigh it tomorrow and update the thread. Any information would be appreciated.
Happy hunting
