At least 99.999% of pistols having metal grips (as yours does) will turn out to be toys.
 

Interesting day today. The site is full of iron and I finally got a clean, isolated signal on the dime. The pistol or cap gun is really corroded. I am afraid to evapo-rust it because it may just vanish.

1919 is a favorite year of mine, and that dime is in nice shape. I agree with you; the rust may be all that is holding the gun together.
