Cape San Blas Florida info

We have now firmed up our vacation plans and will be heading to Cape San Blas Florida in about 3 weeks. Anyone ever detected there? Do you know if it is allowed to detect in this area? I have never been there but know there is a civil War salt work on the island and that there is at least one State Park.

It is not too late for us to pick another location if I cannot detect here.

Any help will be appreciated.

I grew up there, used to be an Air force strafing range I used to find .50 Cal bullets by the bucket full!

Big bullets are cool. With the Air Force history and the civil wat history did you ever find any military items or old coins? Do you know if the area is still detector friendly?
