was going back on an old river site that I have pounded over and over this time with my 12 inch excelerator coil lookin for deep missed targets from previous searches and this gal popped up from the massive depth of four inches...dont know how i missed it all those times. I was just about to turn off my detector from lack of good signals and leave. Not a lot of detail, but it is either a 27 or 37.....cant really tell with my old eyes.thanks for lookin, vn

when it first came to light, i thought seated at first, as I have found several at this spot. Then I saw the shield and immediately thought draped bust dime.....then I was let down as I saw the rest of the coin..It has been well spent during its lifetime.

You can easily tell if it's an 1827 or 1837. In 1828, the size was reduced to the current size, so if this one is bigger than a current dime, it's an 1827.

Yes I did notice that when I looked it up in the book. It's a one millimeter difference. I'll have to get my micrometer out and hope that the one millimeter difference was it worn off by use

Central Florida West Coast. Obviously this dime wasn't lost in the twenties or thirties probably Lost in the 50s or 60s
