I found this tag today and at first thought it was a dog tag. After I cleaned it up I could see that it wasn't as old as I thought. I know it has something to do with cars and that is about it. I found it where 3 houses used to be (tobacco road style) and were torn down because of the land fill polluting their wells. What was this tag attached to?

Carburetor identification tag from a Ford. Go to an auto parts place with it and they can tell you what models and years it fits. I'd guess 1970's...

You peaked my curiosity, so I called around.? No go at the first two places, but O'Reilleys says it's a good number and has a kit in stock for $12, float extra, now all you need is the carb!!!? He couldn't tell me what year or even what kind of carb.? I love this stuff because I used to rebuild them myself when I had old cars and couldn't afford a mechanic...? OK, i used to be so poor and mechanically inclined that there is NO part of a vehicle I haven't worked on...
For $12, I'd guess it's from a one-barrel, maybe two - can you say Pinto or Maverick?

I did some more research and the D3 indicates 1973. My book only goes to 1971 though, so I cant say what kind of carb.
