Cartier silver & 18th century table from auction
It’s been a long winter here in Connecticut and yard sale season hasn’t started up yet. In the meantime, I’ve been attending some great auctions and the one from this past Saturday was one of my favorites. Here’s the rundown of great finds.
* Pretty little candy dish with sterling top and weighted base- $5.00.
* Two sets of S&P shakers with sterling tops- $5.00.
* Glass pitcher with sterling base-$5.00.
* Small lot of ceramic thimbles that also included this sterling thimble shot glass. The shot glass is made by Cartier from the 1950’s and is a killer piece. That lot cost me -$10.00!!
* Lot of sterling top coasters and a few plated pieces-$5.00.
* Beautiful early American mahogany Queen Anne candle stand made in Ct. circa 1780’s-$25.00.
* Three vintage sweetgrass baskets-$10.00
* Vintage souvenir Red Sox bat from the 80’s-$5.00
Also bought a couple of other items and spent a total of $97.00. The Cartier cup is really cool and probably a keeper but my favorite is the wood stand and is now sitting next to an early chair by the fireplace.
