It's been a wet few days here so I went back to one of our Union camps this morning. The spot I wanted to hunt had to much standing water so I went to the upper corner of the hayfield. We have pounded this area and the last four times I've been there I didn't find much. Today proved that ground conditions are everything. I hunted for 3 1/2 hrs in an area less than a acre. Man was my ATPro singing me a song. Found 6 bullets, some carved lead and 14!! Yes 14!! Buttons. Most where Eagle I buttons, some where cuff button's and a couple general service. Found 4 that went to peaces on me but that's how it goes. Least I know what they were. Also found what I think is a IH penny, but it's toasted. Not sure what the brass thing is but it has old leather inside it. Maybe from a belt tip or gun sling. Would love some help with it. I love finding carved lead and have pulled a lot from this site in the past. Just goes to show, when you think a place is done.... Don't bet on it! Thanks for looking.
