✅ SOLVED Cast Brass Ball

I found this small hollow cast brass ball with holes on both sides today. It is slightly over an inch in diameter and has a casting line on both sides. My first thought was door knob but it is much smaller than any I have seen. It was found on an early 1800s site.

Perhaps a desk drawer knob? Or similar? I think you're close.

I think that is what it is. The site was gone by the 1880s so I suspect part of a stove finial or curtain rod.
