It seems that most the cellar holes I find are tiny. Maybe like 15'x15'. I'm thinking, wow, that sure would be a small house to live in. So, certainly the size of the house that once stood there had to be bigger than the size of the cellar hole. Am I correct in my thinking? Is there anything to look for to get an idea for the actual size of the house?

Any old home that I have been in and that has a cellar it is very small compare to the house. Mainly the cellar was to store food goods. It was dark and cool there. They did not store a lot of items there like we do these days in a basement.......Matt
