Hi , I have a centech pinpointer that works fine but has a rattle inside of it. I am going to take it apart and was wondering if I posted pics of it,if someone could tell me if I can do anything to modify it to perform better. I have read there is a pot to adjust that may increase the depth of it.

Other questions I have are : Can the wand be improved for extra perfomance ? If I remove the light will that(extra power) increase the depth?

I am satisfied with the stock performance of it and I have a brand new one still in the box. I bought two so hopefully I would always have at least one to use. Thanks in advance.

removing the light won't help on power, the power is limited by law.

thanks, I am going to crack it open tommorow night.

Avoid using alcohol as a contact cleaner. It leaves residue as is evidences by pouring some on a clear mirror or glass. Use DeOx-it brand contact cleaner/lubicant. The military and industry use it and it's superb. Available through MCM Electronics and similar electronic suppliers. It will be a very long long time before you need to reapply it... it's that good.
