We had an unusually slow day at work today and by some act of the aliens my boss had a huge change jar in his truck. He is in the processes of moving and hadnt carried it inside so I ofcourse asked to look through it. On a side note I will beg people to look through their change jars. I have rolled entire jars just to get the good stuff. Anyway he of course said theres nothing good in there. I beg to differ.

3 canadian
3 wheats
3 pre60 nickels including a 38s in pretty darn good shape! my first

and to top it off a 1964 rosie.

And I was getting paid to search the whole time...

I'd say the 38S was the topping. Not the 64 rosie. You'll find lots of 64 rosie's before you find another 38S nickel.

Great job (in both ways. HA!) :D

I found two 38S nickels in the last month, they are not too rare :D

jrf30 without a doubt. very few people appreciate nickels though. I myself love them. The 64 is nice bullion the 38s still has my heart racing. Ive found many silver dimes this is my first off the top 5 key date list for nickels. My boss didnt know what to think lol

EE Congrats! But I have been doing this a long time. They are pretty rare :P

Wow, didnt know they were that good, I guess I should take a look at them and see what kind of condition they are in.

Dont get me wrong they dont have a crazy value or anything. No Jefferson does. But it is a feat to find one in the wild. Two in a month is fabulous. Trust me there are alot of people seeing you got two in a month and hating you lol

Klava, You are freaking awesome. I am very jealous of those two nickels he's found. I've got the 38D but not the S.

Well damn, I didnt think they were anything special. I am almost positive I got them both from the same box as well but I could very well be wrong. Only one time did I buy 2 boxes of nickels and I recall having to double check when I logged them thinking I might have mistook a 3 for a 5.

EE they are easily 3 dollar coins from the picture. Thats almost twice what a silver nickel's value is. They may not seem like much but those three dollars add up quick!

Yeah, I was looking at the prices and I am a little shocked. Hopefully I find more :D

Nice score on the '38s. I just filled the 1938s hole in my book on the 18th of this month searching $62 in CWRs. I also scored a 2009d, which isn't rare but it is my first one ever out of about $2000 in nickels I have searched.

I'm still looking for the 1950d!

I DO MOST OF MY CRH WHILE ON THE CLOCK. :laughing7:

I basically search nickels for the war nickels, if you were local I would trade you for war nickels.
