Some odds and ends from an Illinois forest preserve yesterday. An ax head, a late 1800s/early 1900s medicine bottle (eyeball find)- Boericke & Tafel inscribed, an old Cub Scout pocket knife, and (I think?) a handle to a toy gun.

Great saves.
The bottle was produced for (as you said) Boericke & Tafel a company specializing in homeopathic medicines and remedies starting in 1869 based in New York.
Don in SoCal

I’m shocked the People’s Republic of Cook County lets you detect the forest preserves. Have you checked the rules? Around 70,000 acres to hunt if it’s legal.

I would be shocked too, however, I didn't find these items in Cook County. I found them in a Will County forest preserve (yes, I have a permit).
