chicken waterer base

Found 2 chicken waterer bases that uses a Mason jar that fits on top of base. It is a heavy clear glass base that has Patent No 126997 and the other says PAT APPLIED FOR and on the top it has the number 12. I think it was used in late 30's and/or early 40's. Age??
