I found this coin along with a 1906 seated dime and 1908 Indian at a construction site.

I have the hardest time identifying the date range on these these coins. :icon_scratch::icon_scratch: Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks Don . Huge help! I have a lot of trouble with these Chinese characters especially with the wear on the coin.

I have 5 of these I have found over the years and recenlty put them all together and noticed I have three different diameters but they all seem to be the same and have the markings of above on one side. Any insight on this, Don?

1906 seated? Did you mean 1906 barber or do you have an older dime?

xr7ator,
There are at least 16 denominations of Chinese cash coins (1,2,4,5,8,10,20,30,40,50, 80, 100, 200, 300, 500 and 1,000.
Each may have a different size. The diameter of a 1000 cash coin can be 65 mm (compared to a US Peace $ at 38.1 mm)

Winslow,
I look for (relatively more) recognizable characters on each coin to help ID. On yours, it's the "Z" formation at the 12 0'clock position (on my referenced coin). I believe that character is unique to the attrition I gave it. I could easily be wrong, but finding that obvious distinct character on each coin does cut down on the ID time.
