Spent some time chipping coins out of the ice with nepa-will, mostly clad but did manage a 39 merc ( 3 fty) and 4 wheats (16 fty). Also got the cool 1949 rabies vaccination tag which I gave to Bill since he collects them. All in all a fun day! Thanks for the invite bill! 20170118_100458-1.webp20170118_153840-1.webp20170118_145902-1.webp2017-01-18 15.50.08.webp20170118_154538-1.webp

Nice hunt. The Merc looks to be in pretty good condition too. Congrats!

Bet today was a real work out working the frozen ground. Paid off nicely with some great finds. That merc is a definite sweet one but, that old tag is not far behind.
Congrats!!

Yeah, he's got some nice ones from Scanton. I was born in Scranton.
Nice friend you are....

Hammer and wood chisel?? I'm curious because I've been at a standstill because of the frozen ground............
That's an amazing feat (to me) to pull keepers in this climate............the button is cool, too.

Nice job on the Merc and 49 Rabies tag.

Well done Chris.

I like that button too.

Best of luck to you sir!

Congrats on the merc and dog tag, I like the looks of the button

Glad to see you got out Chris. I'm surprised the ground is still frozen anywhere in PA!

Hopefully it'll last! Cheers

Congrats on pulling those keepers Chris, not a bad tundra hunt.

thanks art, thought it was cool to find because it's so small

thanks steve, was nice just to get out, nothing earth shattering but fun

Care to share what you did to clean it up? Looks good.
just a little baking soda paste. Actually I just wet the coin and rubbed dry baking soda on it. I don't recommend this on coins of value however

A great hunt when it gets that cold.
