That depends on which trail—Chisholm, or Chisum?

The Chisholm trail was mainly in Texas, but I don't think it got down to Brownsville. I believe it ended at San Antonio, but I'd almost bet no one knows for sure. Old maps were never accurate.

John Simpson Chisum was a cattleman here in New Mexico. Part of the trail named after him did indeed cross over into south Texas. I'm not sure if it got as far south as Brownsville.

thank you very much for the information I'm trying to find some new places to search

You can search up all kinds of info about the Chisholm trail, named for Jesse Chisholm. Check out the Oklahoma Historical Society's site as they have good info and maps. You said 'Chisholm' not 'Chisum' which is a minor nearly forgotten trail, but a link to the main trails out of Texas to Kansas.

I tried Google & most of their maps have it ending in San Antonio .
