Choosing detector?

I'm looking to get two more detectors. I don't have much experience under my belt with them but have been researching some good spots for about 3 years and it's time to start searching more. I need a reliable machine for surf and inland that can be user friendly with determining gold and silver at say12". But I also want a detector that can go deep maybe twenty feet. I was thinking two box? But is there any that can target specific metals that deep? I'm open to used machines also. What's best bang for what I'm looking for. Thank you for your time

Good luck finding any detector reliable at 12" much less 20'. Many detectors will signal at 12" but most often it will be really faint or not what your detectors tells you it is.

so when searching deep a hit is a hit! no way to know what kind of metal

At 20' it better be one heck of a big target even for a two box. Even an automobile would probably not be a strong signal at that depth. If you want something that will work good in both salt water and land use, the CTX3030 is about the only game in town. The AT Pro will work also but is not a great salt water machine especially if there is black mineralized sand. It will hit on targets 12" down in most cases and even deeper in favorable ground.

I've been told mine will find a VW at twenty feet, haven't tried it yet, but if it keeps snowing like it has I may get a chance to find an F 150 in a snow bank! Lol, no doubt I'd find it! GL. HH

sorry guys, didnt mean to make a dumb thread but i never heard of a dumb question! but thanks you guys for the help, i know of someone one dug up a EMPTY metal pot at ten feet. and he used a garrett two box. but was not in sand so guess that changes things
