I took advantage of a break in the weather this morning to hunt a park that has produced a good amount of silver and gold in the past. I was finding the usual clad and other junk when I got a shallow target that was a solid 90. Poking around with my brass probe unearthed a heavily tarnished ring. I hunted for a short while longer until the heavy rain sent me packing.

I knew it was silver but waited until I could get it home to try to ID it. It took a rinsing with water and light soaking in lemon juice to reveal "Sterling" stamped on the inside. Further polishing with my Dremel had it all cleaned up.

This ring is large! It fits very loosely over my thumb. What is ironic is I found this ring less than 20' away from where I found my last silver ring. I have hunted this exact area multiple times but never found this. Just goes to show you that you can hunt an area many times and still not find everything!
Merry Christmas!
