Can't find it.
I remember hearing a narrative reading by Leonard Nimoy on the radio as to what happens to scrooge at the end of the original Christmas Carol.
It was a dark tale about how people began to take advantage of Scrooge and rob him blind and that he was so kind, he gave all his money away. He ended up broke with no where to go. He went to the people he helped but now they were all so rich, they considered him a beggar and some never truly forgave him for being the way he was in the first place.
Eventually, with no where to go, he ended up in the town square under a tree on the coldest night of the year(I think this was either that Christmas night or new years eve). The next day they found his frozen body. He was buried in a common grave with no one that attended his funeral.
At least that is how I remember it. The show would have been broadcast late at night in the late 80's early 1990's.
