Found this a few weeks back on our first bottle dig of the year in a general dump area. One end appears beveled and the other
looks like it was twisted off. Odd piece, any idea's would be appreciated.

7/8 on each side, 4 1/2 long.

My husband seems to think it could be a piece from an old chandelier, one of the pieces that hangs, to refract the light.

if one end is broke off could it be part of a towel rack or hanger?

I thought of chandelier part but it is not cut/faceted like any pendants or other hanging parts. I also thought it might be
part of a towel bar but have yet to find a square example, plenty of round glass towel bars.

The area I was in was used for dumping "everything" including the debris from an old hotel that burned many, many years ago so
both idea's could be possible.

I'd guess part of a towel rack or paper weight. Breezie
