If you want to hunt the wet salt water beaches I would wait until some one with a cibola responds. I hunt in the Nags head area and one thing I have learned VLF detectors can work in mineralization and salt water but not both. My Tejon would work great in dry sand but would not work in wet salt water sand (it will not shut up) I have a sand shark (I am still learning it) it finds allot of stuff at the beach but you need a good scoop what works in the water does not work as well in wet sand.. I hope this helps R/Mike

I wonder why a company like Tesoro has not come out with a "Beach Machine" that is not
an underwater type machine...

I have had their Stingray (very good) but the permanent headphones get really hot and coil weight
really bothers for just walking around hunting..

Why not a lightweight detector that works good in the wet sand, has good depth on coins, and is
super sensitive to small gold....
No headphones required...

My dream machine...

Maybe the Lobo would work since it auto balances of coarse it would still be heavy but you could mount the box to your waist!!

I bought a Lobo years ago, before the advent of the "Supertrac" and it was horrible in the wet sand,
noise everywhere...
I do not know if the "Supertrac" would be any different although it comes with a "Normal/Alkolai
switch...
So I don;t know...
