IMG_0774.webp I made a trip to the supermarket this morning and was surprised to see a 1957 silver Roosevelt Dime in my change.

Yep... they’re still out there, few and far between but still floating around... my last circulated score was a Rosie from Horton’s. Of course we won’t mention the $67.50 face value in Washington’s that my girl scored for me there a few years back... nice find! Ddf.

Thank you

Not counting Coinstar this is my first silver circulation find in a couple of years.

all the unemployment and hard times brought on by the covid is likely to make people feel they have little options other than to spend coins they normally held back and tucked away. I've seen it before in my area when the oil market went bust

So far this year I have found 13 silver rosies in the coinstars they are so light people don't hear them hit the reject tray.

Good score there are some still out there its been a while since Ive found one but I m always looking

Congrats, clad2silver!
Thanks Tuberale......

Thanks Tommy.....I always check my change. Other than Coinstar finds it's been a couple of years since I got a silver coin in change.

Great way to get silver. When I run registers I always rake through the dimes and quarters looking. I get them every now and then. Even better when the customer hands some for payment i keep pocket change with me to switch them out after.

They seem to appear every so often.

Nice surprise. That does not happen very often anymore. Congrats.

I'm sure you heard that there is coin shortage

I'm sorry it's all my fault. Covid19 forced me to start a swear jar.

Free silver is the best kind.....

More often would be nice.....

It was definitely a nice surprise, i didn't realize I had a silver dime until I got home.

I'll bet that my Covid swear jar is bigger than yours.....:laughing7: In addition to the supposed coin shortage, they're saying there's also a pepperoni shortage......I guess my next pizza will have to be sausage rather than pepperoni.:BangHead:

Dont forget there is a Dr. PEPPER shortage as well

jewelerguy, makes a good point about some one spending due maybe some one having tough due to the economy! Quick story about a guy with 3 sons. Well they were in need of cash these young boys so they decided it would be ok to get into ol' dads coin stash, silvers, war nicks etc, he sure came to work that night mighty irate.... and by the way, no it wasn't me ya'll, hahhaah i would of cried for a month of sundays hahahahah
