I found this in a field where I have found Civil War artillery shell fragments and several fuze pieces.

Is this a fuze or a component from a Civil War artillery fuze?

I don't know what it is, but I am pretty sure it is not a fuse.

Looks like a piece of a natural gas or propane line. I think I've encountered them when working with old heaters.
