civil war era ? maybe maybe not . here's some from 1907 . buckles like that really haven't changed much over the years.

Agreed, Horse Harness Buckles like your Brass & Iron Pin didn't change much in about a 100 years. 'Might' be Civil War period, but is more likely Post-CW, due to the extended period (increased probability) it was used after.

Nice buckle frame either way. I’d guess 1900 or so, based on the increased probability mentioned by Crusader.
