In trying to get my beautiful wife involved in my passionate and "nerdy" (that's what my friends call it) pastime, I asked her to help me identify this button. What a great wife she is. Research says its a Horstmann CW Union Artillery Overcoat Button. Thanks Babe.

Nice find! Is that picture on the right the same button after cleanup or just a better example?

That's the picture from the Internet that helped identify it.

Congratulations on a great find I have yet to find an artillery button

Beautiful button, congrats!!!

Nice button Butch, you better have left some for me:thumbsup:

Congrats on the button.

Congrats, that's an awesome button!

Johnny, I'm sure theres more. I also found a smaller button but it had no markings at all.

What a beautiful button!

Just wanted to show what it looks like after being cleaned up.

rmbutcher4, I love your button, and appreciate your research. As it turns out I found a very similar one Sunday, sorry no pic,
but Its too like it not to be CW. Mine doesn't have the A ( for artillery) but otherwise looks the same. Congrats on yours. PS,
what did you clean yours with, it came out great.

Relicmeister, Thanks for checking it out. I used aluminum jelly I bought from a local hardware store (they didnt carry it so they ordered it for me)Using a cotton swab, I rubbed the jelly on it for a few minutes then rinsed it off. I probably did this 15 times. Good luck with yours. HH
